The After-sales & Facilities Senior Manager is required to manage all technical and operational activities related to boats technical services (dry docking, overhauling, repairs, maintenance, registration, import…), facilities management and boats operations.
Management of all matters, operations related to technical services, boats operations, marinas and yacht services center facilities
Technical services: Boat preparation, test & commissioning, maintenance, repairs, , spare parts equipment, warranty request and coordinating with brands’ after-sales service
Appointment and management of subcontractors with the support of the supervisors
Management of technical professionals, crews and berth personnel
Initiation and distribution of procedures and work instructions that relate to his scopes of responsibilities
Participation to the design and supervision of new boatbuilding projects with shipyard.
1. Boats technical services
Be responsible for the whole operational and technical tasks of the After-sales & Facilities Department
Supervise technical supervisors to ensure proper resolution of company/client boat related technical problems in a diligent and proactive way
Develop and implement policies and procedures for the performance of work operations
Work with sales, brands and logistics for services pricing
Ensure the quality control process of parts, deliveries, repairs and service
Ensure technical compliance with health/safety policies and procedures
Services team staff management: work distribution, labour planning, finding, training/coaching, and retaining the necessary technical workforce (in-house or outsourced), including engineers, technical supervisors, technicians, crews…
Develop and implement service packages (Technical service, Yacht management, Berth rental)
Ensure licenses (Vietnam registration, radio station, firefighting, insurance,) for new boats and licenses renewal processes are handled properly and meet commitments with clients.
Manage the processes of boat commissioning and preparation from the handover of the boat, after-sales service, hull maintenance schedule, repair method/procedure and management.
Respond to customer inquiries, complaints, and work with the team to resolve these issues in a timely and satisfactory Client.
2. Boat navigation and operations
Manage and supervise crews teams, providing leadership and guidance to ensure smooth operation of daily activities,
Periodically assess crews’ qualifications and required licenses
3. Facilities management
Throughout a preventive maintenance plan, manage the marinas facilities and berthing services, boats operations and maintenance in order to meet quality and safety conditions
Actively initiate and supervise the investigation of marinas, ports, berths, moorings
Interface with the landlord management teams
Research, develop marina facilities improvement plan and solutions
Interface with SEAMECO for place rental, service contract
With the support of the supervisors, oversee boat dry-docking checklist and approval, technical tools management
Manage the security service at marinas and YSC
4. Brand aftersales & warranty
Technical report to Brand aftersales service for boat issue, reparation, technical improvement…
Interface with Brand aftersales team for aftersales service, warranty policy, warranty certificate register and renewal, technical improvements
Manage the warranty process with boat’s owners, brands and logistics agency for importations and customs clearance
Interface with Management team and shipyard to design, develop new local boat Brand (KEPLER Boat),
Supervise production for new boat during building at shipyard - TVD.
5. Purchasing & Suppliers management
Manage suppliers and sub-contractors management (local/oversea suppliers of materials/parts/equipment and services)
Manage the processes of sourcing, purchasing, stock, delivery and logistics for parts or equipment from suppliers / service providers.
Manage the service cost and financial resources with an economical method and ensure compliance with financial regulations and organizational policies
6. Other
Regulation: support to collect and implement up-to-date regulations on boat registration, driving license, navigation rules, safety regulations for Vietnam
Logistics: support on boats transportation, importation and insurance
Trainings: design and implement technical trainings for Services team, Crews, Boat users
Ensure availability of work tools, machine, and other necessary equipment required for the performance of job duties
Other missions and tasks as per line manager’s instructions.
Job Requirement
Minimum experience of 8 years in a relevant role (boat building, boat management, engine repair, boat dry-docking and overhauling…)
Solid background in marine engineering, mechanical engineering or naval architecture
Up to date knowledge and experienced with techniques for boats inspection and repair
In depth knowledge of VN regulation related to boat registration and navigation
Expert in boat technical management (hull and machinery)
Strong skills in risk management
Excellent people management and work organization skills
