The purpose of this role is to develop and follow up on new business accounts and to support the Business Development Manager in conducting research on, and contacting potential new business partners. This role is also responsible for providing intensive product support for key series and WS/ RT agent accounts. The business development executive is wholly responsible for all leisure tour package design and costing for wholesale/ retail, series accounts and new agent brochures or other media. BDE liaises with key staff at agents & series partners for product development.
· Work day-to-day at the head office and monitor the work allocation, monitor and meet all deadlines.
· Take the lead in supporting sales for wholesale package and series program creation during the quote/renewal stage and new business opportunities
· Work closely with the data team to ensure all necessary PCMs/Packages for all new tours are loaded in Tourplan properly.
· When packages are complete and approved by the client hold a handover meeting to ensure the Sales consultant in charge of receiving the bookings understands the product well.
· Coordinate with all CPMs or CMs for the above tasks
· Conduct research on, and contact potential new business partners to set up meetings with the BDM.
· Work closely with the Product/Contracting/Database Department and CPM’s & CMs in Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Myanmar offices + non-core suppliers to make sure the head office receives product in a timely and accurate format.
· Be responsible for creating and maintaining specific tariffs for individual agents according to sales requirements.
· Under directions and work closely based on the instruction from Sales & Business Development Manager
· Creating custom itineraries based on requests from agents, Sales & Business Development Manager
and CEO.
· Communicate regularly with regional CPM to best support them in delivering relevant information to SGN based departments.
· Seek out and develop better ways to undertake your role and to continually aim to develop the daily systems and applications that you use in your role.
· Responsible for coordinating the work of Business Development team (BDT)
· Ensure that BDT teams achieve goals & KPIs
· When necessary, recruit staff.
· When necessary, help to write JDs and formulate KPIs.
· Conduct regular performance reviews as necessary.
· Baccalaureate, degree or equivalent work/life experience
· In-depth product and destination knowledge of all or most countries in which TOI operates including Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar, China and Bali
· In-depth knowledge of the tourism industry in Vietnam and the region
· 3-5 years’ experience in an inbound travel company in SE Asia
· Experience in working with different cultures
· Good written and spoken English
· Thorough understanding of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
· Experience in effectively working at all levels within an organization, including delivering presentations (PowerPoint, WebEx, etc.), co-coordinating training sessions, etc.
