POSITION SUMMARY The Chemical/Fuel Technician is responsible for the overall safe, reliable and efficient management of the power plant water chemistry and related issues in accordance with industry standards, environmental restrictions, original equipment manufacturers recommendations, and standard operating procedures as directed by the chemical/fuel leader.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:
Monitor the quality of all plant water systems and identify and administer treatment as required to ensure that facility equipment life, operational efficiency and environmental compliance is maintained. This includes demineralizers, electro-chlorinating and wastewater treatment plants boiler, turbines and related auxiliaries.
Conduct testing to ensure coal and other fuel meets contracted standards.
Monitors boiler water chemistry to assure consistent water quality and takes an action to ensure that maximum permissible limits are not exceeded.
Conducts water and fuel sampling and tests.
Monitors coal specification to ensure is within boiler design specifications. Promptly advises the Chemical/Fuel Engineer of any deviation from specification which could adversely impact operation of the boilers.
Assist Chemical/Fuel Leader to monitor fuel chemistry to ensure it is within boiler design specifications.
Assist the Chemical/Fuel Leader to develop, implement and direct the policy, procedures and practices required for the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the power generation systems and equipment.Provide technical assistance in interpreting laboratory test results, and advice on impact of test results to the plant operation.
Assist the Chemical/Fuel Leader to manage and supervise the O&M contractor of Coal Handling system.
Assist the Chemical/Fuel Leader to organize strategies on coal yard utilization, plant operating guidelines, coal movement and coal spacing.
Support Chemical/Fuel Leader to establish and maintain Chemical/Fuel systems operations data recordkeeping, including operating logs, trend logs, chemistry logs, and reports pertaining to environmental regulations and operations.
Perform additional duties as required.

Job Requirement
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
2 - 3 years vocational / technical school diploma or equivalent level of experience required;
3 years as a Chemical Technician at turboelectric plant Supercritical unit experience desired.
Available to work a rotating shift, if required.
Available to work overtime, weekends and shift work if necessary
Prefer a completion certificate of training course related to Super or Ultra critical coal power plant operation
Upper beginner level communication skills in the English language(written & verbal), Able to response using basic grammar & vocabularies.
