We are seeking a visionary Creative Director to lead our creative team and oversee the development of our next blockbuster game title. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful game design, a passion for storytelling, and the ability to bring innovative concepts to life.
JOB PURPOSES
Define strategic product vision
Establish a clear and forward-thinking vision for product development, aligning with company objectives and market demands.
Resource management and alignment
Ensure optimal utilization of production resources while harmonizing creative vision with overarching business objectives, fostering a unified development roadmap.
Cultivate core product values
Foster and reinforce the core values of the product, ensuring consistency and relevance throughout the development lifecycle.
Maintain graphic quality
Oversee the maintenance of the product's graphic quality at every stage of development, ensuring alignment with core product values and expectations.
Enhance team creativity
Devise and implement strategies to cultivate the creative capabilities of the team, fostering an environment conducive to innovation and excellence.
Problem solving and decision making
Actively participate in addressing challenges and resolving issues that arise during product development, leveraging expertise in game design and art direction to drive effective solutions.
Continuous evaluation and feedback
Consistently assess and provide constructive feedback on various aspects of product development, offering insights and recommendations from both game design and graphic design perspectives to drive continuous improvement.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
a) Establishing graphic direction and controlling graphic quality:
Ideate and define the overall creative vision and art direction of the game
Direct the style for themes, tone, art style, and storytelling
Develop an art style guidance that aligns with the core values of the product, to be applied across Concept, Model, Animation, VFX, and UI departments
Monitor quality, provide feedback, and approve game concept art
Monitor quality, provide feedback, and approve outputs from the 3D Model and 3D Animation departments
Monitor quality, provide feedback, and approve outputs from the VFX, UI/UX departments
Monitor quality, provide feedback, and approve marketing creatives
Direct the team of artists, motivate and effectively enhance their creative capabilities
b) Coordinating game design:
Collaborate with the Game Design Lead to define the core values of each product (core game pillars)
Contribute ideas with the Game Design Lead to set the direction for the product at each stage, ensuring the development process stays aligned with the established core game pillars
Participate in brainstorming sessions to discuss creative ideas
Continuously evaluate and provide feedback on game design to ensure the game development plan is cohesive with the vision, core values, and business goals
c) Cross-departmental coordination:
Analyze the creative vision of the game and clearly communicate it to the teams
Contribute ideas with the Product Manager to identifyavailable resources and allocate them appropriately for concurrently developing projects
Contribute ideas with the Marketing Lead to build effective campaigns
Coordinate with the Technical Lead to identify emerging issues, find solutions, and resolve problems thoroughly
Participate in the development process and present it to the board of directors, proposing necessary suggestions
Be involved in project meetings at all stages (pre-production, production, soft launch, global launch, optimization, operations, etc.)
Write clear and visual documentation to ensure information consistency
Bachelor's degree in Game Design, Art, or a related field; Master's preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in game development, with 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar position.
Professional background as Art Director/ Game Designer/ Game Producer/ Project Manager
A strong portfolio showcasing previous work and contributions to successful game titles (~1M downloads)
Exceptional ability to communicate and present ideas clearly and persuasively at all levels.
Deep understanding of game mechanics, player psychology, and narrative techniques.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
