The ESG Compliance Manager (UVN), is responsible for the implementation and administration of the company’s organization-wide environmental, social, and governance (“ESG”), sustainability, and compliance program at the factory. This requires responsibility for data collection and verification, engaging with other cross-functional departments, conducting ethics, compliance, and sustainability risk assessment activities, documenting and developing internal controls designed to mitigate ethics, compliance, and sustainability risks, perform research and respond to questions regarding ethics, compliance, and sustainability, including those related to human rights, conflicts of interest, anti-bribery, anti-corruption, environmental sustainability, ethics and compliance requirements applicable to government contractors, and driving successful completion of customer compliance needs. As a key contributor within the Ethics and Sustainability department, you will be involved in product environmental requirements, compliance to the Responsible Business Alliance (“RBA”) requirements, and sustainability activities. Here you will continue to develop your deep understanding of UEI’s core policies and procedures as well as learn new ethics and sustainability laws across the globe as they evolve.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Participates in and supports ethics and sustainability program on projects related to all elements of the comprehensive ethics and sustainability program, including risk assessment, program assessment, third party compliance management, training and communications, enforcement, policy and procedure development, analytics, reporting, and investigations.
Engage with Human Resources, Legal, Facilities, General Affairs, Production, Accounting, Quality Assurance, Supplier Quality Management, Procurement, and others to ensure compliance to various ethics and sustainability requirements.
Conducts regular, ongoing audits of UEI’s UVN facility in alignment with the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Validated Assessment Program (VAP) standards and the RBA Code of Conduct.
Conducts onsite audits of UEI’s suppliers in Vietnam in alignment with the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Validated Assessment Program (VAP) standards and the RBA Code of Conduct as needed.
Documents and reports audit findings, and ensure timely resolution of any non-compliance issues.
Supports customer requirements related to ethics and sustainability including customer audits, questionnaires, and requests for information.
Develops and maintains internal controls to mitigate ethics, compliance, and sustainability risks.
Maintains a functional knowledge of relevant law and regulations, contractual requirements, policies and procedures, codes of conduct, and internal and relevant external issue-resolution processes. Prepares reports for Ethics and Sustainability department. Meets regularly with the Supervisor to update status of activities.
Builds strategic relationships with customers, vendors, and suppliers.
Assists in the drafting and development of local policies and procedures to align with corporate policies and procedures as needed.
Builds an awareness and culture of ethics and sustainability within the factory. Assists in the training and communications to managers and staff on reporting, case management, and other aspects of the ethics and sustainability program.
Understands current and future challenges within the industry, educates and prioritizes these issues with internal teams and external stakeholders. Remains up to date on ESG and compliance trends and developments and translates them into actionable improvements.
Travels occasionally as needed.

Job Requirement
Education, Licenses & Certification
Graduate from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree, preferably in compliance & ethics, business administration, communications, or related field.
RBA Factory Lead Certification, preferred.
RBA Labor & Ethics Lead Auditor training, preferred.
Qualifications - Knowledge & Experience
Self-motivated leader with uncompromised character and a deep-rooted conviction for ethics and integrity.
The ability to influence and catalyze change to improve ethics and sustainability performance through the application of exceptional interpersonal, relationship building and collaboration skills.
The ability to work autonomously with a hands-on approach.
Ability to balance idealism with pragmatism. Comfortable challenging the status quo and ability to address conflict and difficult issues in a professional, assertive and effective manner.
5 – 10 years of experience in a compliance related area.
Experience with obtaining RBA certification at the factory site, or similar CSR certifications (ex. SMETA).
Experience auditing facilities to RBA VAP standards, or similar CSR standards (ex. SMETA).
Experience with customer, 3rd party, and supplier compliance audits.
General understanding of local and federal laws in Vietnam.
Work experience should include relevant duties with highly confidential and sensitive issues. Government contracts compliance, risk management, internal audit and controls, or ESG / sustainability experience preferred.
Strong analytical, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills required
Fluent in English and Vietnamese
Work Conditions
48 hours per week.
Working in the office area.
Physically able to participate in onsite audits, training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
Sitting for extended periods of time; Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, etc.
