Finance Manager - Fashion Retail

Job Description

• Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):
  • Develop and manage annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of sales, margins, expenses, and profitability, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports to senior management, including variance analysis and performance metrics.
  • Build and maintain financial models to support strategic decision-making, such as new store openings, product line expansions, and promotional activities.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to fashion retail, such as sell-through rates, inventory turnover, and customer acquisition costs.
• Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to develop accurate and realistic budgets.
  • Create and maintain rolling forecasts to provide up-to-date financial projections and identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Monitor budget performance and provide regular updates to management.
• Financial Reporting and Compliance:
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Oversee the reconciliation of general ledger accounts and bank statements.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and tax laws.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Inventory Management:
  • Analyze inventory levels and costs, providing insights to optimize inventory turnover and minimize carrying costs.
  • Collaborate with the merchandising team to develop inventory strategies that align with sales forecasts and fashion trends.
  • Monitor and control shrinkage and inventory discrepancies.
• Cash Flow Management:
  • Manage and forecast cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operations.
  • Optimize working capital and manage accounts receivable and payable.
  • Negotiate favorable payment terms with suppliers.
• Team Leadership:
  • Supervise and mentor finance team members, providing guidance and support.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
• Strategic Support:
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic initiatives.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; Master's degree or CPA/ACCA certification preferred.
