We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Manager to join our team at OnPoint. The Legal Manager will be responsible for overseeing the legal team, managing all legal matters related to our commercial and service contracts, and ensuring compliance with commercial laws. This role will require close interaction with internal teams and external brand partners, as well as the ability to manage and resolve any disputes or potential litigations.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor the legal team, including a legal executive and senior legal executive, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the department.
- Provide legal counsel on a wide range of matters, including commercial contracts, intellectual property, labor laws, and compliance issues.
- Lead negotiations, drafting, and review of contracts with external brands, ensuring terms align with Financial terms and legal requirements.
- Address and resolve disputes, claims, or litigations with brands, managing the process from initial discussions to final resolution.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, minimizing the company’s exposure to legal risks.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders across departments (such as Commercial, Service, Operation, Tech, Finance, HR) to provide legal support and guidance for business operations.
- Review and update internal policies and procedures to ensure they align with evolving legal requirements and best practices.
- Manage relationships with external legal advisors and service providers, ensuring high-quality service and cost-efficiency.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant industry trends, legal developments, and changes in commercial law to proactively advise on potential legal issues.
- Prepare and present reports on legal matters to senior management and other stakeholders as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB), Juris Doctor (JD), or equivalent; a Master's degree in Law or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial law, with a focus on contract management, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.
- Proven experience in managing a legal team, preferably in an e-commerce, retail or technology-related environment.
- Strong knowledge of commercial law, intellectual property, and labor law.
- Ability to independently manage litigation cases and provide strategic legal advice.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Proactive, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English.
