Operations Manager – Thai Village (Fine Dining, Chinese Cuisine)
Job Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth and profitable operation of Thai Village, a luxury fine dining restaurant specializing in Chinese cuisine, abalone, and shark fin delicacies. This role requires a strong leader with expertise in premium restaurant operations, customer service excellence, cost control, and franchise compliance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Restaurant Operations & Compliance
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring smooth coordination between front-of-house and kitchen teams.
- Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and franchise standards (HACCP compliance, local health regulations).
- Implement and enforce fine dining service protocols to uphold the brand’s luxury image.
- Supervise VIP dining experiences, ensuring high standards for private rooms, banquet service, and premium clientele.
- Monitor kitchen efficiency and food preparation standards to maintain consistency and quality.
2. Financial Management & Cost Control
- Manage P&L, food & beverage costs, and labor costs to optimize profitability.
- Control inventory, supplier relationships, and high-value seafood procurement (abalone, shark fin, premium ingredients).
- Implement budgeting strategies to maximize revenue while maintaining luxury service.
- Work with franchise leadership to ensure financial goals and operational benchmarks are met.
3. Customer Experience & Service Excellence
- Ensure VIP customer satisfaction, handling high-profile guests and resolving service issues with discretion.
- Develop and maintain customer loyalty programs to retain high-spending patrons.
- Train staff on Chinese fine dining etiquette, ensuring precise execution of tea service, plating techniques, and banquet protocols.
- Monitor online reviews and customer feedback, proactively addressing concerns.
4. People Management & Leadership
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing kitchen and service team.
- Lead pre-shift briefings to align teams on daily priorities, VIP reservations, and special events.
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and team-building initiatives to maintain high morale.
- Resolve internal conflicts, ensuring a harmonious and disciplined work environment.
5. Marketing & Brand Management
- Collaborate with marketing teams to drive high-end promotions, seasonal menus, and private events.
- Oversee restaurant reputation management, including social media presence and PR events.
- Build relationships with corporate clients, luxury travel groups, and high-net-worth individuals to boost patronage.
5+ years in fine dining or luxury restaurant management, preferably with experience in high-end Chinese cuisine.
Experience managing premium seafood operations (abalone, shark fin, live seafood handling).
Strong financial acumen (P&L, budgeting, cost control).
Franchise management experience is a plus.
Fluent in English; Mandarin or Cantonese is a plus (for better customer communication).
Proficient in restaurant management systems (POS, reservation platforms, inventory tracking software).
Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
Preferred Certifications
Degree in Hospitality, Business, or Restaurant Management (preferred but not required).
Food Safety & HACCP Certification.
Luxury Hospitality or Fine Dining Service Training (preferred).
