* JOB DESCRIPTION
Provide technical support throughout the automotive Industrial paint process.
Identify, analyze, and solve manufacturing process issues and equipment-related problems to continuously improve key business metrics
Scope, order, and assure proper implementation of new processes & equipment with Manufacturing Engineering manager and Manufacturing Supervisor.
Quote, develop processing standards, and assist in new product launches
Provide technical support to technicians and work teams and serve as technical resource for the paint department
Direct cross-functional paint process improvement projects with the assistance of operations, maintenance, and controls team members
Provide a critical link between the paint department and other process partners in areas such as product design, assembly, maintenance, safety, quality, etc
Create work instructions for specific products and processes as assigned in coordination with Manufacturing Engineering manager and Manufacturing Supervisor.
Identify and troubleshoot process, material or equipment problems, recommend solutions to minimize downtime.
Evaluate the entire process flow - part presentation, tooling/equipment needs, manpower assignments, work processes – create and present workflow designs to improve manufacturing operations.
Job Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Mechanical/ Chemical Engineering or a related field desired. Equivalent education and experience required.
Industrial automotive paint experience required.
Understanding of manual spray guns and application required.
Spray robotics experience preferred.
Use of paint quality tools required.
Understanding of industrial conveyors and paint booths required.
Strong knowledge of lean principles and the ability to apply them in order to establish and/or improve processes.
