Planning & Purchasing Lead

Job Description

Planning

§ Lead the S&OP cycle including data collection, running pre-S&OP and monthly S&OP meetings.

§ Continually review the S&OP process to ensure it continues to be up-to-date with current best practice and suitable for business needs.

§ Coordinate with Warehouse, Production and Purchasing to establish production schedules to meet customer needs while ensuring that raw materials are available to support production.

§ Analyze current inventory levels and identifying trends to determine when additional inventory should be ordered.

§ Develop planning tools and framework to determine material requirement and material stock projection.

§ Seek and recommend solutions to overcome issues arising in order to meet production requirements and address operational risks.

Purchasing:

§ Developing and implementing purchasing strategies.

§ Managing daily purchasing activities, supervising staff, and allocating tasks.

§ Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc.

§ Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation.

§ Coordinating with inventory control to determine and manage inventory needs.

§ Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.

§ Preparing cost estimates and managing budgets.

§ Working to improve purchasing systems and processes.

§ Training new employees in the purchasing process and how to use the purchasing system.
