The Procurement Manager is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the supply of food, beverages, packaging materials, and other services essential to the operations of the company. This role requires a deep understanding of the food and beverage industry, supplier relationships, and cost-effective purchasing strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Sourcing & Management:
Identify and select suppliers for ingredients, packaging materials, and other related products.
Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, timely delivery, and competitive pricing.
Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality, delivery, or service.
Negotiation & Contract Management:
Negotiate prices, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure favorable contracts.
Manage contracts and agreements with suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal standards.
Ensure that all procurement processes comply with industry regulations, particularly in food safety and hygiene.
Inventory & Demand Management:
Collaborate with production and sales teams to understand demand forecasts and plan procurement accordingly.
Maintain optimal inventory levels, avoiding both excess stock and stockouts.
Ensure efficient stock rotation, particularly for perishable goods, to minimize waste.
Budget & Cost Control:
Develop and manage procurement budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness.
Track spending and implement strategies to reduce costs without compromising on quality.
Analyze and report on procurement expenditures to senior management.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure all products meet the required standards for quality and safety, especially in compliance with food regulations and certifications.
Work with quality control teams to verify the specifications and safety of products.
Market Research & Trends Analysis:
Stay updated on market trends, pricing, and industry developments.
Identify and recommend new products or ingredients that can enhance the company’s offerings.
Sustainability & Ethical Sourcing:
Promote sustainability in sourcing practices by exploring eco-friendly and ethically sourced materials.
Work to implement sustainable sourcing policies to support the company's corporate social responsibility (CSR) objectives.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, train, and mentor a team of procurement staff to ensure efficient procurement operations.
Foster a collaborative and performance-driven environment.
Job Requirement
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Food Science, or related field.
Experience: 3+ years in procurement manager. Experience in managing suppliers and negotiating contracts is essential.
Skills:
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
In-depth knowledge of food safety standards, sourcing, and logistics.
Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office tools.
