Job Description

The role of an Oakwood Sales Manager

The strategic pillars at Oakwood are Grow our Portfolio, Fill our Properties and Improve Efficiency. Every role has the objective of building on these pillars to achieve success for the departments, and the brand.

The following tasks are your essential responsibilities. However, do note that there may be additional requirements owing to the dynamic needs of the business. All of which should be accomplished while remaining focused on the key priorities of becoming the operator of choice for owners, the preferred place to stay for our guests and the company all hospitality professionals aspire to work for.

The Sales Manager will:

  • Develop sales activities to achieve maximum sales of Oakwood Serviced Apartments to current and prospective customers.
  • Provide a mix of strategic and tactical solutions in a business-to-business selling environment. The focus is on acquisition, penetration, and retention and achieves the set sales target annually
  • Sell Oakwood’s entire portfolio to corporate decision-makers and residents.
  • Ensure the given quota/targets set on sales calls; room nights and room revenue are being met.
  • Develop and call on potential clients in the region. Clients include top multinational regional and headquartered companies, government agencies, and Embassies.
  • Procure new and repeat business by monitoring and maintaining contact with business chambers, private clubs, and professional associations within local and international markets
  • Track Client interactions. Information should include whom you spoke with during the day, a summary of the conversations with your contact, potential business, and any follow-up items.
  • Understand the overall market – competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply, and demand, etc.
  • Maintain supportive, timely communication with OAP Sales and Operating Departments.
  • Complete Monthly Oakwood Associates Review (OAR) report no later than the 5th of every month and review on a one-to-one basis with the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Attend major sales/PR, and networking-related functions.
  • Establish travel schedules and monitor travel expenses to optimize sales productivity.
  • Manage time effectively by scheduling each week so that you are out of the office on sales calls from Monday to Friday, preparing brochures, rate sheets, and presentations prior to meetings, mapping out territory, and scheduling client visits in the same area on the same day.
  • Provide support to General Manager, Director of Sales & Marketing, and entire Associates by participating in weekly meetings, providing updates on potential business, assisting with client service issues and property tours, reviewing vacancies with management, etc.

And the rest of the time, Sales Manager will:

  • Perform other duties and functions as may be assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing from time to time.
  • Participate in any Sales & Marketing initiatives and projects.
  • Perform any ad-hoc duties assigned.

Job Requirement

QUALIFICATION 

  • Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Hospitality Management or Sales/Marketing preferred.
  •  Additional work experience may substitute for degree.
  •  English Level: Highly articulate in English language, both written and spoken

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 2-3 years in Sales & Marketing related operations, of which at least 2 year-experience in similar position in a 5 stars establishment.
  • Extensive knowledge in pre-opening and post-opening sales & marketing operations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY

  • Strong track record of sales & marketing experience and influence of respective regional market.
  • Strong strategic thinking, Creative, outgoing, highly developed interpersonal skills and organizational skills
  • Possess dynamic leadership qualities and self-motivated with a number of core strength
  • Ability to analyse data and establish appropriate action plans.
  • Resourceful and able to work independently.
