[ SHIZUOKA - JAPAN] Design Engineer

Job Description

•Body Engineering for a leading motorcycle industry

•Experience in design and development of two wheeler exteriors from concept through production

•Generate CAD models, detailed drawings, and conduct the analysis required to support the subsystems through the release cycle

•Very good experience in plastic part design, development of Class-A surface, Benchmarking of competitive designs, maintain BoM, etc.

•Practice proper modelling techniques which allows part/assembly to be easily modified

•Analyze existing and new designs to identify and implement cost reduction opportunities

•Understanding and basic knowledge of component manufacturing processes including sheet metal, casting, forging, machining, stamping, and complex plastic component moulding

•Work with system engineers, development engineers, and development technicians to support the definition of project goals and detailed system specifications

•Establish a reasonable project development schedule from concept to production implementation in line with overall business requirements

•Organize and conduct design reviews with internal teams to ensure adequate input and involvement from all engineering and functional groups. Coordination with vendors.

Job Requirement

•Good understanding of GD&T, FMEA, DFM, Tolerance stack-ups, FEA, CFD

•SKILL: Catia V5/V6 & Exterior Component Design, Bumper, Wiper, Mirror, Cowl.

•JLPT N1 - N2

•Extensive experience and proficiency with UG-NX and can design complex components

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills – Japanese & English

•Exhibits outstanding interpersonal skills, able to work in a team environment, quality & time focused, independently prioritize the completion of tasks, resolution of issues, etc.

•Experience with packaging of components, frame & chassis design would be added advantage

•Experience designing parts to strength, weight, and cost targets

•Microsoft software including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
