The Coverfit Staff is responsible for creating and maintaining upholstery patterns, sewing drawings, and technical specifications for new product development, engineering changes, and production support. This role works closely with R&D, Engineering, Production, and US teams to ensure accurate pattern development, efficient material utilization, and timely project execution.
1. Pattern Development & Technical Documentation:
- Create upholstery patterns, sewing drawings, and technical specifications for new product development, R&D projects, New Go, ECO, AFI, OEM projects, headboards, and other assigned programs.
- Develop and maintain pattern files, drawings, and specifications to support production and engineering requirements.
- Create UN kits for replacement parts and update replacement part (RP) patterns for applicable ECOs.
- Develop patterns and drawings for KD (Knock-Down) products when required.
- Create test patterns, drawings, and support related development activities.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation, technical records, and revision updates.
2. Product Development Support:
- Work closely with Engineering and R&D teams on new style development and product improvements.
- Support sample development, product testing, and trial activities.
- Review Idea Network requests and collaborate with US teams to implement approved ideas and ECO changes.
- Communicate with US teams regarding patterns, drawings, samples, and technical-related matters.
- Coordinate with PIC to ensure ECO items are released to production in a timely manner.
3. Pattern Optimization & Cost Improvement:
- Re-nest patterns and optimize marker layouts to improve material utilization and pattern yield.
- Generate marker reports to support costing activities.
- Support cost reduction initiatives through pattern optimization and efficient material usage.
- Continuously improve pattern layouts and cutting efficiency.
4. Production & System Support:
- Provide technical support to Production regarding patterns, drawings, sewing construction, samples, and related technical issues.
- Create and maintain CNC fiber files and kit stack-out documentation.
- Coordinate with Lectra Center to resolve Lectra system-related issues.
- Ensure patterns and sewing drawings are properly prepared and released for production.
