Mechanical Design Engineer (Automation Machinery)

About the Role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in automation machinery and production equipment. This role is responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems for automated machines, from concept design through fabrication, assembly, testing, and commissioning

Key Responsibilities

1. Mechanical Design & Development

• Design automation machines, production equipment, robotic cells, fixtures, jigs, conveyors, and material handling systems.
• Develop machine structures and mechanical mechanisms based on project requirements.
• Select and integrate mechanical components including servo systems, linear motion components, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Perform basic engineering calculations for speed, torque, force , stroke and component selection.

2. Documentation & Manufacturing Support

• Create 3D models, mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, and BOMs.
• Prepare technical documents for fabrication, assembly, and installation.
• Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and product quality.

3. Machine Build & Commissioning

• Support machine assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities.
• Work closely with Electrical, PLC, Robotics, and Manufacturing teams during machine integration.
• Improve machine performance, reliability, and maintainability.

4. Project Collaboration

• Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and problem-solving activities.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for existing machines and production processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or related fields.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in automation machinery, special-purpose machines, or industrial equipment design.
• Proficient in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software.
• Strong knowledge of machine design, mechanical systems, and manufacturing processes.
• Hands-on experience with servo-driven systems, pneumatic systems, and mechanical transmission components.
• Experience in machine assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning is preferred.
