Chief Accountant

Job Description

Report to: Head of Finance

Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management:

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions and reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements (separate and consolidated reports), including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
• Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial data and insights for decision-making and strategic planning.

2. Tax Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and other statutory requirements.
• Prepare and submit tax reports (VAT, PIT, CIT, FCT) accurately and on time.
• Serve as the main contact for tax authorities, banks, and other government agencies regarding accounting and finance matters.

3. Team Leadership:

• Mentor and provide guidance to the accounting team, promoting professional growth and ensuring high-quality work.
• Conduct training for new staff to ensure accurate financial record-keeping.

4. Financial Planning & Budgeting:

• Manage and control the annual budget and weekly payment plans to ensure optimal cash flow and smooth operations.
• Support the Head of Finance in budgeting and forecasting activities, providing input and analysis.

Job Requirement

Key Skills and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Chief Accountant Certification is required; CPA is a plus.
• Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, with at least 3-4 years as a Chief Accountant in the fintech industry or related fields.
• Strong understanding of Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS) and tax regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software (SAP or Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
