The Director of Program is an Extended Leadership Team member within TFV who sets the vision for Fellow, Student and Community outcomes, and leads the Program Team to achieve the target.
They are responsible for both pre-service and ongoing training and support for the fellows and ultimately the success and credibility of the Program.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic planning and ensure we achieve Student and Community Outcomes
Work with the CEO and Extended Leadership Team to set a vision for student and community excellence.
Oversee development and implementation of diagnostic, end-of-semester and end-of-year assessments.
Create and implement systems to effectively measure student and community impact.
Work with the Director of Govt. Relations to create strong, sustainable partnerships with schools, and resolve issues that arise between Fellows and school management.
Initiate new projects to achieve Student Outcomes such as Blended learning, Future of Work.
Collaborate with the Development team to initiate and deliver other leadership development programs for local teachers, pre-service teachers.
Plan and ensure effective ongoing training and support for Fellows, local teachers and community members according to Theory of Leadership
Determine priorities and measures of success for Fellows, students and community.
Recruit, train, and manage Program Team.
Oversee training and support calendar for Fellows and communication to Fellows.
Build and maintain relationships with potential university partners/advisors in order to enhance Fellow professional development programs.
Create and implement systems to effectively measure and evaluate effectiveness of training and support for Fellows.
Provide information and briefings as necessary to the whole team and external parties.
Develop an ambitious and feasible vision for alumni impact and plan for implementation
Identify critical sectors and roles through which Alumni can make systemic impact on educational inequity.
Liaise with diverse stakeholders across multiple sectors (including academic, development, policy, and corporate) in order to build leadership pathways for Alumni.
Seek out and create opportunities for professional exposure, development and mentorship during the Fellowship to prepare Fellows for success as Alumni.
Oversee the curriculum and LDF verification process
Project manage Program Team to achieve verification goals within set timelines.
Work with external advisors to ensure quality assurance.
Train and coach Program Team staff for the verification process.
Team Management
Managing a team of 5-7 staff members to be successful and engaged in a fast-paced, goals-driven environment.
Building a strong team culture to ensure that the team is a great and sustainable place for every staff member to work.
Coaching and developing staff members on core curriculum, pedagogy and management skills and cultivating them as future leaders of the team.
Organization Leadership
Providing leadership for the organization and representing the vision, mission, and core values of the organization, both internally and externally.
Contributing to the development of the organization’s long-term vision and strategy and strategic and operational plan.
Working on strategic initiatives to optimize the operations of the organization as needed.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Master's degree in education, public policy, or a related. PhD in education is highly preferable.
7+ years of experience in education, preferably in leadership.
Strong understanding of educational equity and how to address it.
Strong experience in leading a K-12 school or working with public schools is highly preferable.
Experience in developing and implementing training.
Experience in developing, managing and motivating.
Excellent communication in Vietnamese and English and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational, prioritization, project management, collaborative and communications skills.
Emotional intelligence, effective relationship and trust building and teamwork.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
