Under minimal direction, the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) serves as a liaison between New Product Development (NPD) and Operations. The AME is responsible to lead the manufacturing implementation of NPD processes to support product strategy and product roadmap. This position facilitates the Project Management initiatives with NPD and MFG teams to successfully launch quality new products, on time and on budget. This role is a fundamental part of our Manufacturing engineering team located in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with proven project experience, as well as someone who exhibits the drive for continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES
1. Motor Manufacturing NPD Project Management:
Attend/ promote NPD meetings, co-lead with the Operations Team to develop and maintain manufacturing action plans for new tooling, equipment, and production scheduling needs.
Coordinate/ drive NPD builds with follow-up actions, including but not limited to Engineering Builds, Qualification Builds, and Pilot builds.
Create/ empower collaborative project communication channels with NPD, Engineering, Manufacturing, Production Scheduling, Quality, Supervision, and floor operators.
Ensure proper development of Gantt Charts, Project Schedule, Risk Assessment, and Contingency Plans.
Ensure proper agendas to facilitate and document project meetings.
Ensure proper delivery of formal presentations to leadership regarding project status.
Ensure proper management of suppliers of capital equipment for turn-key applications/custom equipment. Ensure proper management of cost, timing and budget of each project.
2. Manufacturing Engineering Development
Have ability to conduct/ lead research, development, and implementation of new manufacturing processes and capital equipment to improve current throughput, scrap/rework reduction, reduce cost, improve quality and improve reliability.
Have ability to work with/ lead prototypes to confirm manufacturing time/cost estimates and test proposed manufacturing processes.
Commit to/ drive major strategic cost, quality and delivery initiatives with aggressive focus on breakthrough process and technology improvements to achieve a substantial competitive advantage.
Ensure proper management of equipment certification and run-off, using statistical analysis tools to verify process rate, capability and Gage R&R.
Ensure proper implementation of with GD&T, Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
Ensure proper development of tooling, fixtures, and gages design.
Assist with/ drive Continuous Improvement Projects in: Kaizen Activities, Visual Management, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, OEE, Work Instructions, Time Studies, Line Balancing, etc…
Engage in/ lead automation and innovation course through technology co-research and development as well as engineering co-test and deployment.
3. Process Design Analysis and Continuous Improvement
Ensure proper performance of a wide variety of calculations and software aided analysis.
Possess/ empower a systematic as well as creative approach to problem solving process.
Provide/ empower multiple what-if scenarios to find best total cost solution
Exhibit/ empower vision and foresight to test process. extremes and build a robust risk assessment analysis matrix to ensure project success.
Understand/ drive well financial impacts of problem and solution.
4. Team Leading and People Development
Promote AME engineer capabilities through identifying strengths, gaps and expectation as well as continually devoting in individual development, mentorship.
Understand and promote leadership culture with appreciation of Milwaukee core values.
Assist in/ drive the team’s performance to committed KPIs and key objectives.
Assist in operational management and strategic activities, align personnel and team’s organizational chart planning to the company’s target picture.

REQUIREMENTS
1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (most preferable) or Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering or with equivalent years of directly related experience.
2. Experience:
Minimum three years supervision/ managerial experience in Motor/ Electrical and Electronics manufacturing (most preferable) or an equivalent manufacturing environment.
Minimum three years of engineering project management experience.
3. Functional Skills:
Specialty skills, understanding and knowledge in Motor/ Electrical and Electronics Engineering (most preferable) or Metal Stamping, Forging, Machining, Injection Molding or Mechatronic and Mechanical Assembly
Relevant Controls and Automation experience preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite -- Including MS Project
CAD Proficient with fixture design ability is preferred
4. Other Abilities:
Good English skills in both written and verbal communication
Leadership with sense of urgency, a team player with excellent communication, organizing and planning skills
