Position Summary

The Color Specialist is responsible for the smooth running of colors issues on the material-supply by improving First Time Through and ensure the high quality delivery.

Reporting Line

Direct: Quality Assurance Manager
Indirect: N/A

Direct Reports: None

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with customer and vendor for sample material preparation and sending.
  • Measure sample material colors using spectrophotometer.
  • Create reading documents and certification cards for approval by customer.
  • Communicate for reading results and improvement needs with concerned party.
  • Measure production material from vendor and issue color assurance report.
  • Provide training to customers, their factories and vendors.
  • Visit and accredit customer's vendor laboratory and operator.
  • Collaborate with the other regional offices for tasks and trials.
  • Upload and update all relative documents in the shared site.
  • Maintain good and easy tracking files for all color management affairs.
  • Maintain good filing system for all material samples and certification cards.
  • Reconcile with QA Manager for major issue and progress.
  • To ensure complete file back up for color reading, tracking and confirmation; analyze and issue complete weekly color tracking report.
  • Assist in local or regional color projects as assigned.
  • Extensive local travel.

Job Requirement

Required Qualifications

Professional Experience and Knowledge

  • Minimum 3 years working experience in leather, textile or footwear industry.
  • Understand the basics of color theory and quality management process.
  • Work independently and attention to details.
  • Capability to compile data and report with Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Good command of both spoken and written English.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Require travel to customer and supplier location.
  • Good command of English and Mandarin / Korean will be an added advantage.

Education and Professional Qualifications

  • University graduate in Technical fields.
  • Good eyes condition (no blind on color).

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, particularly luggage while traveling.
  • A minimum of 50% travel within the regionally and internationally is required.
