In line with the company Total Quality Management objectives & by representing and overseeing Subcontractors on Finished goods (ITB), Assembled whitewood goods (ITW), Components (ITF) –Suppliers on, but not limited to; lumber, veneer, stone, glass, hardware. Quality Control in cross-functional teams:
Lead Subcontractors and Suppliers’ Quality Control Teams to ensure the conformity of Outgoing Subcontracted and Supplier Products,to Company Standards as well Customers & Regulatory requirement
Contribute to Failure Reporting & Route Cause Analysis as well as to Corrective & Preventive Action Planning. Data and analysis from customer feedback, QA audits, internal discussions.
Ensure the Performance of VFR Supply Base from Suppliers Strategic sourcing to their Development & Performance Improvement.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Implement Products & Process Control Plans to ensure that processes are followed & products are conforming to latest specified quality requirements for In-Process & Outgoing Subcontracted/Supplier products
- Inspect 1st piece on all production runs, making sure all is to standards.
- Attend Handover/Risk Analysis/PPS etc meetings, making sure all relevant notes are taken and added to EQC report
- Document & Maintain records of Inspections & Tests as well Corrective & Preventives Actions Implementation for each Subcontractor, supplier of lumber, veneer
- Collaborate with Tech, Subcontractors/Suppliers QC & Production Managers to ensure that all are following the same Company Standards & Specifications
- Proactively help eliminating Products rejection by issuing Quality Alerts, identifying Quality issue & Isolating defective products
- Together with R&D, Tech, Trading and Quality Assurance teams to establish, maintain & improve Company Quality Standards
- At Subcontractors, establish regular Inline Quality Standards Refresher Meetings and short course Quality Training for Production Line leaders
- Routinely audit the active use of QC inspection checklist & tools
- Mentor & train Quality Control Team Members to improve & upgrade their skills
- Actively take part to Continuous Improvement projects lead by team (QA, Trading, Tech) to help Subcontractors/Suppliers improving their Overall Performance (Time, Cost & Quality) involving the necessary Company & Subcontractors Resources
- Attend to Production, Inline & Resolve Customer Issues (RCI) Meetings to proactively address and/or emphasize on Quality issues & resolutions
- Provide quality guidelines, share best practices & enable Quality compliance to Customer requirements
- Recommend & Contribute to Products & QC Continuous Improvements
- Focus on Top Monthly Quality issues, with presentation on each project in monthly management meeting
- Work with VFR 5 (VFR Production control dept for all Subcons), to make sure all standards are being followed, with constant improvements
- Make sure all physical standards are available, in all Subcons/Suppliers, kept in good condition and used by all, including EQC team.
- Ongoing Training for EQC team, on upkeep of standards
- Ongoing Training, together with VFR 5 team, in Subcons/Suppliers.
- Trips overseas to conduct material inspections, and pre-shipment approvals.
