Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

• Support the APE Manager in leading New Product Development (NPD), Product Transfer, New Version and VE projects from early engineering builds through Mass Production.

• Coordinate manufacturing readiness across ESB/EB/QB/PP/FMP, ensuring process, equipment, fixture, quality and documentation readiness before production launch.

• Lead DFM/DFA, PFMEA, process improvement and technical problem-solving to ensure products are manufacturable with required quality, capacity, cost and efficiency.

• Supervise and develop APE engineers, ensuring project execution, technical performance and timely escalation of critical risks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead APE activities for NPD, Transfer, New Version and VE projects, from project kick-off through ESB/EB/QB/PP/FMP and production ramp-up.

• Develop and control project timelines, milestones, readiness status, risks and action plans, ensuring critical issues are identified and escalated in time.

• Lead DFM/DFA reviews with Engineering and cross-functional teams to identify manufacturing risks and improvement opportunities before design freeze.

• Lead and maintain PFMEA, ensuring lessons learned, process risks and preventive controls are properly implemented before Mass Production.

• Coordinate with ME, IE, QE, Production, PMC, PMG, Engineering and suppliers to ensure manpower, process, fixture/equipment, material and quality readiness.

• Support engineering builds and production ramp-up, driving root-cause analysis, troubleshooting and corrective/preventive actions for manufacturing issues.

• Drive process optimization, automation and continuous improvement to improve UPH/capacity, quality, productivity, manpower efficiency and manufacturing cost.

• Review manufacturing concepts and work with ME on fixture, jig, equipment and automation requirements, ensuring solutions meet production and project needs.

• Work with IE and Quality teams to ensure required manufacturing documentation and process controls are ready and aligned with the approved process.

• Monitor project performance and provide clear status, risk, action and escalation to the APE Manager and related management team.

• Assign and follow up activities within the APE team; provide technical guidance, coaching and performance feedback to engineers.

• Capture and standardize lessons learned and best practices for replication across products and future projects.

• For Senior Supervisor: independently lead high-complexity or multiple projects, mentor junior engineers/supervisors, and represent the APE Manager in project discussions when assigned.

Job Requirement

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

• 6–8+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in a multinational manufacturing environment; supervisory or technical leadership experience is preferred.

• Strong experience in NPI/NPD, product transfer, process engineering and production ramp-up.

• Good knowledge of DFM/DFA, PFMEA, root-cause analysis, problem-solving and continuous improvement methodologies.

• Good understanding of manufacturing processes, jigs/fixtures, equipment, automation and production line optimization.

• Good written and spoken English; Chinese communication capability is an advantage.

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, timelines and cross-functional teams.

• Strong analytical, decision-making, communication and problem-solving skills.

• Good leadership and coaching capability, with the ability to develop engineers and drive team performance.

• Good working knowledge of CAD/3D drawing and Microsoft Office; experience with manufacturing/project management tools is an advantage.
