Product Development Supervisor - Convenient Foods

Position Summary

The Product Development Supervisor (Convenient Foods) leads innovation projects in convenient foods, ensuring new products meet consumer expectations and are successfully scaled from lab to factory. This role bridges R&D, manufacturing, and marketing, driving product excellence and competitive advantage in Vietnam’s dynamic FMCG market.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct lab, pilot, and line‑scale trials for new convenient food products.
• Develop formulations balancing taste, nutrition, cost, and manufacturability.
• Benchmark against competitors and global trends to identify innovation opportunities.
• Lead the transfer of new product technologies into factory production.
• Prepare and validate documentation including BOM, SOPs, standards, and testing reports.
• Troubleshoot production challenges during scale‑up.
• Evaluate and propose alternative raw materials to improve quality, cost, or sustainability.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.
• Partner with Packaging, Microbiology, Processing, Consumer Insight, and Technical Data teams.
• Align with Marketing and Supply Chain to ensure product readiness for launch.
• Support QA/QC in establishing product standards and audit compliance.
• Conduct sensory evaluations and shelf‑life studies.
• Translate consumer feedback into actionable product improvements.
• Manage timelines, budgets, and deliverables for multiple R&D projects.
• Report progress and risks to senior management.

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or Agriculture.
• 4–5 years in FMCG product development, preferably in convenient foods.
• Food formulation and processing expertise.
• Sensory evaluation and shelf‑life testing.
• Documentation and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency in English for R&D communication.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication of technical concepts.
• Project management and stakeholder engagement.
