Strategic Sourcing Commodity Leader (Leads Category Leader)

Job Purpose:

Strategic Sourcing Commodity Leader Job focuses on the core elements of category management. It is responsible for driving the commodity strategy for the category while controlling costs and managing risks. The Management aspect will include leadership responsibilities representing the commodity category as well as leading a team.

Job Duties:

• Commodity Strategy Ownership: Create and manage a curated multi-year plan for your category considering market trends while outlining risks and demonstrating the achievement of the company goals
• Market Expertise: Based on the climate in the market advise future risks concerning; price, material availability, and capabilities in the supply base.
• RFQ and Bidding Events: Uphold sourcing standards for RFQ execution. Also, ability to create unique and effective bidding events to drive; cost competitiveness, business allocation, and commodity strategy.
• Cost Analysis: Proficiency in cost analysis through detailed cost breakdowns provided by suppliers. Ability to achieve market competitive cost through this method.
• Collaboration: Work cross functionally to achieve the best results for FRIWO. This not limited to; cost, quality, lead time, delivery schedule, design, etc..
• Negotiation: Drive negotiations regarding; quality, commercial terms, and price ensuring the company’s interests.
• Contracting: Successfully working through contracts and agreements from supplier onboarding to supplier dissolution.
• Supplier Management: Monitor and evaluate supplier performance based on company metrics. Adjust commodity strategy based on actions and results of the suppliers.
• ERP System Management: Responsibility to manage SAP data for parts numbers and suppliers under the commodity.
• Leadership Duties: Participate and present information in elected sourcing related meetings representing the commodity category.
• Management: Ability to manage a small team within a commodity category.

Education Required

• Bachelors Degree – Preference: Business, Engineering, or related field.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in fluent English. Ability to speak Chinese preferred.

Experience Required

• 4+ years sourcing experience in Mechanical or Electronics sourcing.

Knowledge Required
