Job Summary:
As the Marketing Manager of LGI, and Head of the Department, you will drive LGI’s Brand & Trade marketing strategies. This role is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing and brand plans, managing budgets, and ensuring alignment with commercial objectives. You will lead the brand and trade marketing teams, ensuring that all activities are aligned with LGI’s and our brand partners goals and that they deliver measurable outcomes in terms of volume, distribution, and brand equity. A critical aspect of this role is the close collaboration with the sales team to ensure seamless execution and market success.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Marketing & Brand Management
• Develop, in coordination with our brand partners, comprehensive annual brand plans.
• Effectively coordinate and collaborate with other departments to analyze & build strategies, budgets, and trade plans that are ambitious, but defendable and achievable.
• Ensure HR structure within the department that ensures our objectives are being met and our communication routine with brand partners is proactive.
• Oversee the development and execution of brand and marketing plans, ensuring they are on time, within budget, and aligned with the agreed brand positioning.
• Build a thorough understanding of the business and market to drive the priorities of LGI.
2. Market Analysis & Insights
• Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges, and analyze competitor strategies.
• Ensure that the marketing team, brand, and trade mkt, have their finger on the market pulse by creating consistent market visit schedules along with coordinating with sales teams.
• Provide monthly analysis and commentary on key brand activities, performance, and market trends to inform strategic decisions.
• Work closely with Sales departments to understand and incorporate their views into strategic decisions and strategies.
3. Budget Management
• Manage the annual A&P budget effectively, ensuring optimal allocation of resources for maximum impact across marketing channels.
• Track and analyze the ROI of marketing initiatives, making adjustments and recommendations as necessary.
• Ensure A&P spending is tracked, documented & submitted to brand owners on time and to plan.
4. Team Leadership & Development
• Lead, mentor, and develop the brand and trade marketing teams to ensure high performance and alignment with company goals.
• Foster a culture of commercial focus within the marketing team, emphasizing the importance of measurable outcomes and accountability.
• Lead the execution of marketing programs, leveraging internal support and driving collaboration across teams.
5. Trade Marketing & Activations
• Lead the Trade Marketing team to develop and execute an annual activation and engagement plan that aligns with brand strategies.
• Ensure that all trade marketing activities have clear KPIs related to volume, distribution, and commercial impact.
• Drive a strong focus on measurable outcomes in events, activations, and trade programs to support market penetration and sales objectives.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with the sales team to align marketing strategies with sales initiatives, ensuring seamless execution and market success.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, including Sales, Finance, Business Analysis, Sales Admin & Accounting. and external stakeholders.
7. Commercial Focus
• Instill a strong commercial mindset within the marketing team, ensuring that all activities are aligned with the company’s business objectives.
• Consistent and active collaboration with Sales teams to achieve milestones. Joining meetings with current and potential key accounts across channels. Ensuring that your teams are actively engaged for the same for smaller opportunities.
• Drive a culture of accountability with a focus on delivering measurable results that contribute to the growth of volume, distribution, and profitability.
• Develop innovative marketing campaigns and strategies that drive brand equity and support overall commercial goals.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in marketing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the alcohol or FMCG industry.
• Strong commercial background with experience managing A&P budgets, brand management, and executing marketing campaigns.
• Proven track record in leading cross-functional teams and working with agencies and stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build strong working relationships both internally and externally.
• Resilient, flexible, and able to remain calm under pressure, with a positive, can-do attitude.
