NPD engineer perform required work for the projects, works closely with QE, ME and other departments to get the assigned work done accurately and on time
Responsibilties
Follow the 2D industrial design from EU/US/Hong Kong designer or customer, create 3D modeling, conduct to 3D structure design and 2D drawing. Performing dimensioning and tolerance calculations. Capable to apply geometric tolerance dimensioning.
Follow the requirement from purchasing and manufacturing, cooperate with design engineers and supervisors, complete the existing part’s drawing and qualify it.
Release 2D/3D and engineering change (ECN) via Team Center.
Work with Quality/Production/Manufacturing’s supervisor and engineer, work with supplier’s engineer, conduct to structure design review and improve design, meet product’s function, injection/metal tooling and manufacturing/assemble requirement.
Follow up projects from design to mass production release.
Follow up competitive benchmarking and feasibility study.
Initiate documentation like BOM, ECO and SER.
Follow up tool plan, mold and die debugging. Evaluate the new part according to the drawing.
Coordinate with PMC and purchasing to organize EB, pilot run.
Follow up reliability testing with QA laboratory.
Follow up safety approval with laboratory.
Keep product file as most updated.
Follow up continuous product improvement actions
Job Requirement
Requiments
Academic: University Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, or other related Engineering discipline or equivalent
Years of experience
Minimum 2 years relevant experience in project follow up in the engineering industry.
Experience in structural design or product engineer of small household appliances/power tools is preferred.
Experience in Plastic Molding & Metal operations;
Special knowledge
Proficient in 3D drawing software such as UG. Ability to design complex surfaces is a plus.
Familiar with the material nature and application of plastic, hardware and other raw materials, mold and manufacturing process is preferred.
Familiar with mechanical engineering foundation, mechanical engineering analysis.
Good computer experience with Windows, Microsoft Office, Email, 2D and 3D CAD.
Other Skills
Good level of spoken & written English, with CET-4 or above is an advantage.
Good communication, listening and interpersonal skills.
Able to work pro-actively and effectively, self-starter and hardworking
