Purpose of the position:
Cambodia, Vietnam & India are important sources of the raw material for the company.
The cashew sector in Asia is still under development, creating opportunities but as well exposures to all stakeholders.
The Regional Procurement Manager (Asia) plays a functional role in the Procurement organization. The Procurement Manager supports his/her superior, the Procurement Director, to execute the Strategic and Operation Plans in the assigned region with his/her team. The Manager is instrumental in providing the right direction to his subordinates in the field to establish relationships with farmer cooperatives, traders and other (strategic) partners and manages these relationships.
Main Responsibilities :
• Co-defining the Sourcing Strategy with Procurement Leadership Team for the RCN Procurement business for the Asia Region. Deploying the agreed Sourcing Strategy for the Region.
• Defining and implementing the seasonal operational procurement plans for the assigned region together with the RCN Buyers and Origin Development Manager.
• Identify potential suppliers, initiate contacts, establish and grow the relationship.
• Enhance Supplier Relationship – developing the business relationship so that the company will become the customer of choice.
• Actively engaged in concluding purchase contracts with approved suppliers in line with the operational plans.
• Oversee the overall seasonal supplier performance (in terms of timely supply, quality, compliance, documentation, information, etc.).
• Oversee operational issues with the Buyers and guiding them to take initiative to address these, engage subject matter experts within the company, lead the process so that solutions are reached.
• Participate in the end-season reconciliation with suppliers to ensure zero outstanding on cash and packaging material.
• Be active in engaging key stakeholders like Co-operative representatives, and Farmer Groups in our journey.
• Keeping abreast of the markets and industry developments in the region by using all the existing tools (direct relationships, internet, supplier market reports etc.) and reports on this into the Procurement organization.
• Be actively involved in the Weekly Procurement Team meetings.
• Involvement in the weekly & monthly reporting to Management
• Play a pivotal role in guiding, training and motivating the team members by providing ongoing support, and foster an environment of growth and improvement that adds value to the business strategy and long term vision
Requirements for the position
Education
• Graduate degree in Business a/o Agriculture
Experience
• 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
• With agricultural commodities, preferably RCN.
• In a hands-on position, thinking and acting both strategic as well as tactical.
